Their latest spurious offspring, Favorite Child, blends Indie Rock Lumineers and The Decemberists with favorite feel-good Fleetwood Mac. Stellar three-part harmonies, soaring guitar work and keyboards are the cornerstones of both their original music and covers.
In 2022 they released a collection of original music produced by Wammie-winner Marco Delmar (Emmet Swimming); they are destined to be considered your… Favorite Child.

Jillian Matundan is an award-winning, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter living in Northern Virginia who rediscovered her musical voice after a 15-year hiatus. Jillian began playing solo at local open mics in 2019, sharing songs she had only started writing a few months before and has been on a tear, winning ten Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Awards since. She released her debut EP, "Hangin' On", in 2020 and will release her first full-length, fully crowd-funded album in 2023. Kellie Lin Knott has delivered playful performances since age 8 for audiences at venues around the country. Known for her eclectic catalog of original tunes in divergent styles, Kellie often writes songs of comfort and hope. With a start in Boston's bustling folk scene, she played clubs and hustled for tips as a full-time street musician. After time away as a traveling yoga teacher, CEO and educator, Kellie returned to recording in 2016 with "The World Awake." She also tours as a side player for other acoustic artists and is currently writing for her next project, due in late 2023. A Nashville based musician whose music evokes classic 70's singer songwriters like James Taylor and Neil Young, Sam adds a modern, upbeat edge to the storyteller troubadour persona. An avid performer, he has gained recognition from extensive touring and as one of the six 2021 winners in the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition, one of the largest and most prestigious songwriting competitions in the country.

Based out of Washington, DC, Carly Harvey combines Blues, Jazz, Soul and Americana roots styles to create a unique sound that calls to mind Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, and Nina Simone, with a little Ella Fitzgerald thrown in for good measure. Carly is a two-time D.C. Blues Society Battle of the Bands Winner and was proclaimed D.C.'s Queen of the Blues in 2016 by Dr. Nick Johnson of WPFW Radio. In 2021, Carly was nominated 7 times and won the WAMMIE award for Best Blues Artist/Band.

Rooted in the high lonesome sound of the 1940’s - sullied by an affinity for cheap brews, swampy southern rock anthems, and stamped with an outlaw country attitude: Moose Jaw brings the timeless tradition of American roots music into a new era. They focus on putting a new spin on the old-time tales of ramblers, rovers, and revivals has led them to be featured on National Public Radio and an intimate performance for his Holiness the Dalai Lama. Since 2016, audiences from all walks of life have hooted and hollered at Moose Jaw’s blazing fast, workin’ class, and often crass brand of bluegrass.

Tim has performed at venues and events throughout the D.C. area as well as New York and Pennsylvania. A multi-instrumentalist, his songs can be both poignant and humorous and his stories are sure to capture the minds of his audience. Tim has received multiple songwriting awards for his songs such as, “Stolen Moments”, “I’ll Keep The Bong” and ”I Didn’t Know” for which he also won a video award in the Mid Atlantic Songwriting Contest. He played the part of “Woody” in the dust bowl opera “Rain Follows The Plow” for which he co-wrote the song “Sunnyside”.  Self-reflective and acutely observant, Michelle Swan deftly weaves lyric and note together to create intensely personal songs that tell of sentiments and circumstances nonetheless familiar to everyone. Her mastery of her voice and guitar creates a musical experience that will entertain and move you. Jim was born and raised in Northern Virginia in a house full of music.  He began playing guitar in his early teenage years, and eventually added banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and several other instruments to his musical addiction. In 2005, he released a solo CD titled "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" containing 16 original songs.  That same year, he was a founding member of  the singer/songwriter trio, "Harley String Band" recording three CD's with that group  In November of 2022, he joined the Folk/Americana group, "Shenandoah Run."

Michelle Swan & Cherith Yuly

Introduced to the guitar at age nine by her father, himself a former singer/songwriter, Michelle Swan has pursued a musical path ever since. After studying classical musical and clarinet performance at Towson State University, Michelle entered the Baltimore-Washington music scene in 1990, performing at local open-mics and coffeehouses. Self-reflective and acutely observant, Michelle deftly weaves lyric and note together to create intensely personal songs that tell of sentiments and circumstances nonetheless familiar to everyone. Cherith Yuly is a singer/songwriter based out of Waldorf, MD who dabbles in a variety of music projects. She lends her vocal talents to the Honky Tonk Casanovas, a dance band that plays an infectious variety of retro honky-tonk country, surf, and southern soul music.  When she's not with the band, she can be found touring the DC/MD/VA area performing covers and originals, often with her friend and local singer/songwriter, Michelle Swan. Cherith's voice has range and a flexibility that allows for her to cover a large variety of genres, including country, soul, folk, and rock.

Jeremiah Prophett provides unique rhythm/lead guitar and harmonica while Shannon Dove adds 12 string guitar, Bodharan' and both trade powerful lead vocals with songwriting to match. Dr. Cheryl Tobler adds beautiful Irish Flute and fiddle . (She is currently overseas in Scotland!!! So make sure to catch the surprise "Irish Jammer").

Kirk is a recent transplant to the Northern Virginia area, having moved here from Washington State. A professional brewer for the last 10 years, Kirk has been a performer and musician his entire life. Over the last several years he has enjoyed performing in many different venues on the Northwestern Oregon and Southwestern Washington coastal areas. Kirk’s repertoire is diverse with his influences including artists like, Loggins and Messina, Tyler Childers, Passenger, Staind, The Paul Thorn Band and many more. Kirk is known for weaving stories from life with his distinctive Americana/ Roots Rock style.

Paul Wolfe is an acoustic singer-songwriter who’s lived here in Northern Virginia for nearly 30 years, with stops in Charlottesville, Philadelphia, and London along the way—though deep down his native Pittsburgh still feels like home. Rick Landers is an award-winning singer-songwriter, author, and the publisher-editor of Guitar International magazine (2004 - present) where he has interviewed music icons, including: Les Paul, Jimmy Webb, Judy Collins, Slash, Richie Havens, Roger McGuinn, Buddy Guy and more. He formed the group Heartland in 2021 that includes Ron Goad (percussion); John Werntz (bass); and Jim Nagle (dobro).

Mirabelle Skipworth & Julia Norah

Mirabelle Skipworth, who grew up in Chicagoland Illinois, is now local to Pittsburgh and plays regionally as a solo singer-songwriter and with a band. Her 5-piece band, “Mirabelle Skipworth and The Brink Of '' is self proclaimed “alt-folk”. Her folk-inspired melodies and lyrics with the alt-rock influence of her band makes for a dynamic, emotionally-intense experience. She occasionally draws on her own experiences, but often draws from books, concepts, and other people’s stories. Her album, Paraphrased in a Poet, was released Spring of 2019, her EP, The Catalyst Has Called, was released Spring 2020, and her album, Postcards From Patmos released Dec. 12th 2020. Her most recent EP, “The Tables Trill” released Nov. 12th 2021. Her new EP is soon to be released in March 2023. Julia Capuzzi is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from southwestern Pennsylvania. She draws influence from jazz and pop music to create dreamy and thoughtful melodies. She currently has an EP out called “Simple Minds”.

Adam K is a local musician who grew up in Falls Church and relocated to a few different states and countries before returning back to the DMV area. He plays acoustic and electric covers of everything from the 50s to present day as well as some originals. Music has been his lifeline and companion for a long time and after trying on a lot of different life suits he found music fits him the best and has decided to dedicate all his time and energies into making music his main focus and career. Introduced to the guitar at age nine by her father, himself a former singer/songwriter, Michelle Swan has pursued a musical path ever since. After studying classical musical and clarinet performance at Towson State University, Michelle entered the Baltimore-Washington music scene in 1990, performing at local open-mics and coffeehouses. Self-reflective and acutely observant, Michelle deftly weaves lyric and note together to create intensely personal songs that tell of sentiments and circumstances nonetheless familiar to everyone. Cherith Yuly is a singer/songwriter based out of Waldorf, MD who dabbles in a variety of music projects. She lends her vocal talents to the Honky Tonk Casanovas, a dance band that plays an infectious variety of retro honky-tonk country, surf, and southern soul music.  When she's not with the band, she can be found touring the DC/MD/VA area performing covers and originals, often with her friend and local singer/songwriter, Michelle Swan. In 2020, Shanna was a winner in the Kerrville New Folk competition, winner of the Great River Folk Fest Song Competition, a semi-finalist in Songwriter Serenade, and a Grassy Hill Emerging Artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.

In 2021, Carolyn released a solo CD, The Sunny Side Of Life, which includes 7 of her original songs. Eyerly was awarded the WAMMIE for the D.C. area's 2022 Best Bluegrass Artist.

Brent Funkhouser’s brand of achingly uplifting songwriting was born out of the river bends and mountain hollows of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. A professionally trained vocalist, self-taught multi-instrumentalist and burgeoning producer, Mack utilizes her uniquely powerful voice to perform a wide variety of classic and contemporary musical selections in a way that is at once subtly nuanced and refreshingly vibrant. Part rock ‘n’ roll, a little country, some funk, a touch of soul and all heart, Mack’s music is as perfectly suited for bars and wineries as it is for the big stage. Her acoustic solo set is filled with a diverse mix of sing-along songs from Van Morrison and Creedence Clearwater Revival to Smokey Robinson and The Lumineers. Justin Suede is a six-string slingin’ artist which brought him to Nashville in 2018. His original work is filled with heavy, dark, and whiskey aged stories - belted with conviction through the voice of a weathered soul. Shortly after receiving a recording contract for his debut EP, Justin moved to Alexandria, Virginia in 2021, where he currently resides when he's not on the road.

Steve studied music performance at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and plays stages ranging from The House of Blues, The Rock Boat music festival, all the way to acoustic home shows. He has been fortunate enough to tour the country (solo & full band) with national acts like Hunter Hayes, Cassadee Pope, Sister Hazel, & Michael Tolcher. His three full-length albums have been nominated for "Album Of The Year" at The 12th, 15th & 17th annual Independent Music Awards. His songs “The Only Way” (written by Steve) & “LMNOP” (co-written with Adam Doleac) were nominated for “Song of The Year“ at the International Songwriting Competition. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Chuckie moved around Tennessee and Kentucky in his early years. Always interested in music, in the 80's he joined Turley Richard and the Numbers and regionally toured with the band for a few years. After Turley retired, the band became The Score and continued to tour for 2 more years. Chuck was scouted by an agent out of Memphis and offered a house gig with the band MVP at Capt Bilbo's and he remained there until the club was torn down. He took the nucleus of that band and joined the National Artist Agency and toured nationally until 1998. Since moving to the greater Washington area he has headed up the Mystery Machine DMV Band, bringing the funk to the funkless, and the party to those who forgot how. Chuckie will be joined by Giovanni Hernandez on Lead Guitar and Vocals.

Their latest spurious offspring, Favorite Child, blends Indie Rock Lumineers and The Decemberists with favorite feel-good Fleetwood Mac. Stellar three-part harmonies, soaring guitar work and keyboards are the cornerstones of both their original music and covers.

Jeff Smith is a musical raconteur, whose poetic lyrics paint common experiences and filtered memories with a tender or playful brush. Singing in a honey-drenched Appalachian drawl, multi-instrumentalist Smith lays down a brew of what he calls a funky kind of country blues folk pop rock stomp. Sherry Stewart writes songs about people, places and things that have left an impression on her. Themes often evoke nature and leave the listener with a sense of longing only heightened by her angelic voice and vocal harmonies. King Street Bluegrass are 2021 Wammie award finalists, with blues, folk, and country influences. Although based in DC, the members have rural, farm and coal miner family roots, from the mountains of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Southern Virginia. They have been entertaining audiences with familiar bluegrass, country, Americana and original tunes since 2008.

Rick Landers and Heartland

Rick Landers - vocals/guitar; and Heartland (Ron Goad - backup vocals/percussion; John Werntz - bass; and Jim Nagle - dobro) perform mostly originals and a few select covers. Rick was recently invited to record at Cabin Studios, owned by Les Thompson (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band co-founder with Jackson Browne). His original song "Angel on the Wing" recently (2021) won a Songwriters of Washington Award. Rick also publishes Guitar International Magazine (2005 to 2022) and has interviewed legends of the guitar; Les Paul, Slash, Jose' Feliciano; songwriter Jimmy Webb, Buddy Guy and many more; most recent: Eric Gales, Mark Warner (Grand Funk); Jim McCarty (The Yardbirds); and John Hall (Orleans).
